Want to understand the latest interior design trends? Look no further than an Arden display home.

Styled and furnished by our talented interior design team, they perfectly blend aesthetic and functional choices, while remaining at the cutting edge of interior decoration.

Today we’re sharing the design tips and advice behind our Toledo 38 MK2 and Bellini 29 designs that are on display at the Atwell Estate, Plumpton. To provide you inspiration for your own home, our design team has shared the finishes and styling flourishes that make these homes so celebrated.

Toledo 38 MK2

Style: Urban Modern

The Urban Modern look is a fusion of modern, contemporary and industrial references. Hints of minimalism are softened by plush furniture and a focus on comfort. Light and bright spaces are punctuated with bold colour schemes and accents of jewel tones. Industrial materials like concrete and stone are offset by luxe metallic accents. The Urban Modern home makes a statement, while never sacrificing comfort.

Tips to recreate this look:

  • A bold and contrasting kitchen – with black cabinetry and white Ceaserstone benches – provides a perfect base for pops of colourful decor. Bold artwork, colourful vases and statement lighting can enliven the space.
  • Against concrete look tiles and black cabinetry, statement furniture will sing. Think contemporary shapes, fluted timbers and modern art.
  • To channel an urban aesthetic (with industrial influences), use plenty of bold finishings. For example, matt black door pulls, handles and tapware can add contrast to light filled spaces.
  • Don’t be afraid of darker furniture, including black dining tables, deep navy couches and rugs. Just but be sure to contrast this with plenty of metallic accents in brass and gold.
  • The emphasis on comfort within this aesthetic calls for soft couches, plush beds and sumptuous textures like plush velvets and luscious throws.
  • Lean into the drama and elegance of statement marble pieces, patterned wallpaper and bold artworks.

Bellini 29

Style: Light Coastal

The light coastal aesthetic is all about blending the relaxed, beachy feel of coastal design with a more modern, sleek minimalism. Organic textures and colours feature prominently – expect light timbers, earthy stones and warm leather accents. Colour palettes are flexible, but warm hues, soft tones and ivory shades are often favoured.

Tips to recreate this look:

  • With the kitchen’s light base of ivory tiles, bright Caesarstone benches and white splashback tiles, adding wood finishes and tan leather accents will add warmth and depth
  • Include plenty of natural materials like timber, rattan and linen – the texture will add visual interest and dimension to the light and airy space
  • Opt for organic shapes and clean lines to enhance the modern aesthetic – think round coffee tables, sculptural chairs, and unconventional side tables (fashioned from raw woods, for instance)
  • At every turn, aim for a calming and restful palette – plenty of whites, beige, soft greys and ivories, with accents of mustard, jade and ochre for richness
  • In the bedrooms and living spaces, layer different textures for visual interest and tactility – including chunky knits, woven floorcoverings, and earthy velvets
  • Complement the light surfaces and large windows with warm lighting – sculptural pendants, table lamps and floor lamps will add a sense of cosiness and intimacy
  • Punctuate the softer tones with plenty of greenery and floral elements, dried florals and foliage can be incorporated into every room
  • Plush couches upholstered bedheads and eclectic soft furnishings will enhance the feeling of a comfy coastal retreat.
