It’s essential that you feel reassured and confident in your choice of builder as you begin the process of creating your first home.

At Arden, we’re confident you’ll love building your home with us. We pride ourselves on being 100% transparent so you feel informed and in control every step of the way.

Here are seven important questions to ask us, or your preferred builder, as you embark on your home building journey.

  1. Can we see examples of your recently finished projects?

Visiting displays or previous examples of your builder’s projects is a good way to visualise how to your finished home will look.

Checking out our quality of work is made easy with five display locations across Melbourne and the Geelong region. We advise visiting our displays as it will give you an idea of how your finished home will look.

  1. Will we be allowed to visit the job site?

Being present during the construction of your new home can often bring peace-of-mind and allows you to keep track of progress, as well as feel involved as your home comes to life. It also allows you the opportunity to ask the site supervisor any questions you may have along the way.

You’re definitely encouraged to visit the construction site as we bring your home to life! We’ll set up site visits at each stage of the build to ensure you feel in-the-loop every step of the way.

  1. Who will be the site supervisor?

Knowing the main overseers of your home’s construction is important. Not only do you need to know who to contact in case of any queries, you also need to build a trusting dynamic with your site supervisor, so you feel at ease throughout the construction process.

Before we commence the construction phase of your home, we’ll ensure you are introduced to each of the key people responsible for bringing your home to life.

  1. How can I contact you after hours?

It’s important to find out how to contact your builder and site supervisor after hours in case of an emergency. This will also reassure you that if anything does go wrong, you all know how to reach each other.

We’ll provide you with these details during your pre-construction meetings with us.

  1. What are your sustainability initiatives?

Ask your builder about their sustainability initiatives. This will not only give you an indication on how your builder will make building your home as environmentally-friendly as possible, but also give you some insight into how energy-efficient and environmentally friendly your home will be once you move in. A sustainable home will not only offer benefits to the environment, but serious energy bill reductions!

At Arden, we’re passionate about building sustainable homes that provide amazing benefits for homebuyers and the environment.

  1. What level of design flexibility do you offer?

It’s important know what level of customisation is available as you build your home, and how much extra your builder charges for design changes. This will help you to determine what level of personalisation you’ll have on your home’s design.

At Arden, we’re renowned for our level of design flexibility. When you purchase an Escape house and land package, you can choose from five different home designs, four different interior colour options and a generous range of facades.

  1. What’s your plan for managing obstacles and delays?

Ask your builder how they plan to deal with any delays or obstacles that may happen throughout the building process. Sometimes delays and obstacles can’t be avoided, so it’s important to know how they plan to manage and communicate any potential setbacks.

At Arden, we pride ourselves on providing open, honest and consistent communication with our clients throughout every step of their journey with us. We promise to always keep you up-to-date and informed.
