Dare to Decorate with Dulux

20-02-2020

At Arden, we choose to partner with trusted brands such as Dulux, and we utilise products that are known for their performance and style to ensure maximised quality for our customers.

Dulux is a market leader in the paint and coatings industry and has been manufacturing quality paint in Australia since 1918. Thanks to our partnership, every Arden Home features a Dulux three coat paint system to all internal walls and two coats to ceiling as a standard inclusion.

A fresh coat of paint can completely transform the feel of a room. Here are three ways to bring your home to life with Dulux:

1.A fanciful feature

A painted feature wall can be used to showcase a particular area in your home, or simply bring a plain wall to life.

Colours can evoke different emotions and feelings. You can use colour to personalise your home by incorporating a feature wall. For example, a yellow or orange colour can create a happy, light feeling, whereas a deep red or maroon can give a warm, passionate feeling.

The light grey-blue wall (Goyder Green SG5G4) featured in our Luxe Torquay home brings about a calm, serene feeling, consistent with the Torquay beachside location.

Not sure what colour to choose for your feature wall? According to the Dulux 2020 Colour Forecast, blues and greens are the trending hues for this year and are likely to be incorporated through artwork and furnishings.

Read more about the interior trends forecast for 2020 in our blog, or view Dulux’s Colour Wall here.

2.A cinematic escape

Want to create a cinema-style theatre room? Use a dark grey paint colour on your walls, like Dulux’s Grid GR17, to create the feeling of an enclosed, cosy space – just like that of a movie theatre!

We’ve demonstrated this in our Beaumont display home in Berwick Waters.

Pair black curtains and leather recliners with the dark grey wall to enhance the feeling of a dimmed movie theatre. All you need now is popcorn!

3.A monochromatic moment

Having an impact with wall paint doesn’t need to involve bright and bold colours. In fact, featuring a subtle wall colour and neutral-themed furniture and decor pieces can provide a stylish, sleek and timeless interior design.

In the master suite of our Votivo display home in Marriott Waters Estate, Lyndhurst, we’ve created a monochromatic colour scheme by using different hues of grey and brown. We’ve paired a grey patterned wall with a light grey headboard, dark grey carpet, and incorporated cushions and throws in complementing tones. Dulux Natural White PN1E1 coats the walls to keep the room bright and light-filled.

A neutral wall colour also provides the opportunity to achieve a monochromatic colour theme through accessories such as cushions and linens and provides you with the freedom to easily update and change your accent colour when you feel like something different.

When buying with Arden, you’re able to select your desired Dulux wall paint colours at your colour selection appointment. These meetings are led by our expert interior designers, who will demonstrate the way colours appear under natural and artificial lighting conditions and guide you through the process of matching your wall colours to your cabinets and benchtops.
